New scam call warning

SCAMMERS are constantly changing up their “pitch” to targets in order to get YOUR MONEY. The new approach is to tell the citizen on the phone that there is a subpoena sent via USPS certified mail.

The SCAMMER tries to make it sound valid by saying the Subpoena was signed by a real County Judge and telling the citizen to send him a copy of their signature to compare it to the signature that “signed” for the certified mail. SCAMMERS will try any approach to take YOUR MONEY. Do not give or confirm any type of personal information over the phone. Hang up and call the named agency by a telephone number YOU look up in order to confirm a situation.

Currently the SCAMMERS are using the number of 859-346-0774 with the name Lt. Doug Patton from the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office.

To report continued nuisance calls please contact: Kentucky Attorney General, Office of Consumer Protection at 888-432-9257.
